FISH FRY 1
Ingredients:
For fish fries there wont be any measurement.All depends on the taste and spice you require.
- Dry Red Chilli - 3 nos
- Green Chilli - 2 nos
- Garlic - 4 cloves
- Ginger - 1 medium piece
- Shallots - 3 nos
- Chilli Flakes - 1 tsp (optional)
- Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
- Coriander Powder - 1 tbsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
- Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
- Lime juice - 1 tbsp
- Curry Leaves
Preparation:
- Grind Dry red chilli, Green chilli, Garlic, Ginger and Shallots into a paste.
- Take a bowl and add Chilli flakes, Chilli powder, Coriander powder, Turmeric powder, Pepper powder, Lime juice , Curry leaves and the grinded paste.Mix everything along with required salt and water , make into a nice paste.
- Marinate the fish with the above paste and keep it aside for an hr.
- Fry it after an hour and serve it hot.

Ingredients:
- Mathi - 4 nos (Clean and have 2 -3 slits so that masala will enter inside fish)
- Tomato - 1 nos( chopped)
- Garlic - 6 big cloves (chopped)
- Ginger - 1 big piece (finely chopped)
- Onion - 2 medium size (chopped)
- Curry Leaves
- Turmeric Powder -1/2tsp
- Pepper Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Dry Chilli - 2 nos
- Chilli Powder - 2 tbsp
- Thick Coconut Milk -1/2 cup
- Salt,
- Oil
- Water
- Banana Leaf - 1 or 2 nos
Preparation:
- First we will marinate our fish. Take a bowl and add 1 tbsp of chilli powder, 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, required salt and water.Mix everything and make into a paste.
- Apply the paste onto the fish and keep it aside for an hour.
- After an hour take a pan to fry our fish.Heat oil (use little oil as its mathi) in the pan and fry both side of the fish for around 50 %. Fry the dry chilli along with the fish.
- Remove the fish and dry chilli from the pan so that we can make the masala in the same pan.
- Add onion, ginger , garlic and curry leaves into the pan.Saute it for a min so that the color of onion will start changing.
- Add pepper powder, remaining turmeric powder.Mix it with the masala.
- Add the remaining chilli powder also into the masala and saute it for a min.
- Add the chopped tomato and required salt.Mix and cover it.Cook till tomatoes become paste.
- Add coconut milk into it.Cook till the gravy becomes semi thick.(oil will appear above the gravy.)The gravy should not drain out from the banana leaf.
- Now our masala and fish is ready.Wilt washed banana leaf in open flame thoroughly.
- Add masala in the center of the banana leaf.Keep fish on top of it.Then again keep one more layer of masala on top of fish.
- Keep the dry chilli on top of fish masala and wrap the banana leaf firmly so that steam won't escape out of the wrap.Tie with the banana leaf strings.
- Take a pan and heat it. Keep the wrap on top of it. Heat atleast 15- 20 mins each side.
- Open the hot wrap and serve hot the tasty meen pollichathu.

- Black Pepper Powder - 2 tbsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
- Chilli Powder - 1/2 tbsp
- Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
- Curry Leaves
- Salt
- Oil
Preparation:
- Mix Black Pepper, Turmeric , Chilli powders, and Ginger Garlic paste along with required slat and water to a paste.
- Add curry leaves into the paste.
- Marinate the fish with the paste and keep it aside for 30 mins.
- After 30 mins fry both side of the fish using required oil.(use less oil as it is mathi)

- Chilli Powder - 2 1/2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Pepper Powder - 1 tbsp
- Salt
- Tamarind Water (thick) - 1 1/2 tbsp
- Water - For making paste.
You can take more quantity of masala powders if you feel the masala is not enough.
Preparation:
- Take a bowl and add chilli powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, tamarind water, enough salt.Make into a paste by adding enough water.
- Marinate the fish with the above paste and keep it aside for 30 mins.
- After 30 mins take a pan add oil and fry both side of the fish.

Ingredients
- Karimeen - 2 nos
- Shallots - 18 nos (crush 15 shallots)
- Dry Chilli - 3 tsp (crushed)
- Ginger Garlic Crushed - 2 tbsp
- Chilli Powder - 1tbsp
- Pepper Powder
- Turmeric Powder - 2 tsp
- Curry Leaves
- Salt
- Banana Leaf - 1 nos
- Vinegar - 1 tsp
- Oil
Preparation:
- First we will marinate our fish.Make a paste of the following ingredients Shallot (3 nos), Ginger Garlic Crushed - 1 tbsp, Chilli Powder ( 1 tbsp), Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp, Pepper Powder ( 1/2 tbsp) and required salt.
- Marinate the fish with the above paste and keep it aside for 15 mins.
- Take a pan for frying the fish , add enough oil and slightly fry the fish ( 2 mins each side).
- Take a bowl add the crushed shallots(15 nos). Dry chilli crushed (3 tsp), Turmeric Powder (1 tsp), Pepper Powder (1 tsp), Oil (1 tbsp), Vinegar ( 1 tsp), Salt and curry leaves.Mix all the ingredients.
- Wilt washed banana leaf in open flame thoroughly.
- Apply a layer of masala on the banana leaf. Keep the fish on top of it and apply the remaining masala on top of the fish.
- Wrap the banana leaf firmly so that steam won't escape out of it.
- Take a pan heat it and keep the banana wrap on top of it. Heat each side 15 mins.
- Open the wrap while serving :).
